Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Classic & classy location. Has a typical sushi bar to eat at, multiple tables, booths and chairs. Dim lot, perfect for a upscale feel. Great service the whole time. Full drink menu, red, white, speciality wines, cold and hot sake, draft beer and bottles. Now the sushi, outstanding specialty rolls, and flavor combinations. Otoro was good as well. Everything seemed fresh. The only downside was the edamame, coldish, not very salted and hard. Thank you for helping us celebrate our 7th year of marriage.

Love this restaurant. Staff is always the best. Not only is the food great tasting but beautifully plated in artist design. Everything is very tasty. Sushi is always a win. We had the Maguro and the Thomas Wolf. Along with bang bang shrimp.

My girlfriend and I were visiting downtown Asheville for a few days and decided to satisfy a sushi craving one evening. We eat sushi regularly, and since my girlfriend is Japanese, we like to think we have a pretty good sense of what makes a great sushi experience. We ordered the Imperial Platter for Two, and it exceeded our expectations. The combination of sashimi, nigiri, a rainbow roll, and a spicy tuna roll was not only delicious but also an incredible value for the price. The presentation was beautiful, and the platter even included two miso soups. We chose seats at the sushi bar, and the entire experience from the food to the atmosphere and service was excellent. Our only disappointment is that we don't have Maguro back home!

Beautiful, warm, elevated and authentic atmosphere. Option to sit at the sushi bar or the table with plenty of menu items. The two of us devoured a couple of sushi rolls and shared a black garlic ramen that we couldn’t quite finish because we were so full. Absolutely recommend trying this place out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A True Gem in Downtown Asheville! From the moment we stepped into Maguro, the experience was unforgettable. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and relaxed β€” ideal for date nights, dinner with friends, or a special treat. The space is beautifully designed and gives off a warm, inviting vibe that instantly puts you at ease. The menu is a breathtaking celebration of Japanese cuisine with something for everyone β€” from exquisitely fresh sushi and sashimi to rich, soul-satisfying ramen and hibachi options. Every dish we tried was vibrant, artfully presented, and bursting with flavor. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and generous, and the rolls were creative yet perfectly balanced. What truly sets Maguro apart, though, is the service. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to guide us through the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured our meal flowed perfectly from start to finish. Whether you’re a sushi aficionado or just someone who loves great food and warm hospitality, Maguro is a must-visit in Asheville. Highly recommended β€” we’ll definitely be back! 🍣🍜❀️
